Bates Premier Taekwondo (BPT) is THE premier dojang in NM. We were introduced to the Bates when Chee was running the competition team at another school. When they decided to open their own school it was a no-brainer to follow them. BPT provides a world class level of instruction to all of their students – regardless if they’re a beginner student just taking belt classes or if they’re a national level athlete on their competition team. At our old school my son was terrible at sparring (I can say that, I’m his mom). In 7 months, Chee transformed my son from the kid that was being run off the back of the mat to a silver medalist at the National Championships. A year later my son became the National Champion. Not into competition? That’s okay. Come and learn tkd in their fun and engaging belt classes. One of the best things about BPT? The family atmosphere. Stop in and you’ll see what I mean. And parents, taekwondo isn’t just for the kids. With their family pricing everyone can get in on the action. They even offer circuit classes during the week so you can get fit over lunch. My boys and I both attend this gym. The little Braves class is GREAT! My 3yr old went from barely being able to sit still for 2 mins to being able to focus for 30 mins. My 11yr old was a little overweight and Coach Chee was able to get him back on track! My son is focused and healthy. Being the busy mom that I am, coach Chee and his staff helps by picking up afterschool and ensuring my kiddo has a safe place to be.
